Pittsburgh Human Resource Association Ethics Policy
1. Overview and Purpose
Pittsburgh Human Resource Association (PHRA) adoptsthis ethics policy to support a culture of openness, trust and integrity in business practices. Effective ethics is a team effort involving the participation and support of every PHRA member and employee.
PHRA is committed to protecting its members, employees, partners and vendors from illegal, unethical or damaging conduct by others and will not permit such conduct by its members or employees.
The purpose of this Policy is to emphasize the PHRA’s commitment to our members and organizational associates who have a justifiable expectation to be treated to fair business practices. This policy shall ensure that our members and employees uphold the highest standards of business behavior and ethical conduct.
2 Scope This Ethics Policy applies to the PHRA's Leadership Team, Executive Committee, members, employees, contractors, consultants, vendors, temporary or contract employees and other representatives of the PHRA, This Ethics Policy applies to all verbal or written communications and in any format, including electronic mail.
3. Policy
4.1.Leadership Team and Executive Committee Commitment to Ethics
4.1.1. PHRA’s Leadership Team and Executive Committee members will set a prime example of ethical conduct. Honesty and integrity will be their top priority.
4.1.2. PHRA’s Leadership Team and Executive Committee will have an open door policy and welcome suggestions and concerns from members and employees.
4.1.3. PHRA’s Leadership Team and Executive Committee will disclose any conflict of interests (political, financial, or legal) with regard their PHRA position.
4.1.4. PHRA’s Leadership Team and Executive Committee will not tolerate self serving actions in the form of any “privatized exclusive actions” which compromise fair opportunities for all members to conduct business and use the learning resources of the PHRA.
4.2. Member Commitment to Ethics
4.2.1. PHRA members will treat others fairly, demonstrate mutual respect, promote a team environment and avoid even the appearance of unethical or compromising practices.
4.2.2. PHRA members will apply effort and intelligence in maintaining the value of ethics within the organization.
4.2.3. PHRA members will disclose any conflict of interest (political, financial or legal) with regard to their PHRA position.
4.2.4. PHRA members will help the PHRA increase customer and vendor satisfaction by providing quality products and timely responses to inquiries.
4.2.5. PHRA members will not exclude anyone from engagement in the PHRA, abiding by all fair employment law practices.
4.3. Association Awareness
4.3.1. Promotion of ethical conduct within interpersonal communications of members will be rewarded with recognition of role modeled excellence.
4.3.2. PHRA will promote a trustworthy and honest atmosphere to reinforce the vision of ethics within the PHRA locally, regionally, nationally and globally.
4.4. Maintaining Ethical Practices
4.4.1. PHRA will consistently reinforce the importance of the integrity message and the tone will start at the top. 4.4.24.4.3. PHRA has established a best practice disclosure committee to make sure the ethical code is delivered to all members and that concerns regarding the code can be addressed.
4.4.4. All investigations of reported unethical behavior will be reviewed and documented without bias.
4.5. Unethical Behavior
4.5.1. PHRA will avoid even the appearance of unethical or compromising practice in relationships, actions and communications.
4.5.2. PHRA will not tolerate favoritism, harassment or discrimination.
4.5.3. Unauthorized use of PHRA copyrights, trade secrets, membership lists, operations manuals, personnel information, financial data, source coding, and technical information integral to the success of the PHRA will not be tolerated.
4.5.4. PHRA will not permit impropriety at any time and we will act ethically and responsibly in accordance with the law.
4.5.5. PHRA members will not misuse corporate image, assets or business relationships for personal use or gain.
5. Enforcement
5.1. Any infractions of this Ethics Policy will not be tolerated and PHRA will document and act quickly in investigating any allegation of a violation of this Policy and take corrective measures when necessary.
5.2. Any Leadership Team member, Executive Committee member, PHRA member or employee found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of the privileges of membership and or employment
