The Aging Workforce: Roundtable

Learn about the 50/50 challenge in SW PA: we have 50,000 too many older workers and 50,000 too few younger workers compared to our peer regions.
 
This forum will consist of a brief presentation by TRWIB CEO, Ron Painter, about the TRWIB’s study conducted with Carnegie Mellon University: Managing the Changing Workforce in SW PA.  Ron and TRWIB staff will lead a discussion among attendees to examine the extent to which the so-called aging issue is perceived a problem by HR professionals and the organizations that they represent.
  • Aging happens.
  • But what effect does that have on our region’s workforce?
  • Are we in trouble?
  • Or, is it really no big deal? After all, people have gotten older before. Is it different this time?
 More specifically, we will compare study findings with the perspective of HR professionals.
