Because significant differences exists between labor contract negotiations and other types of bargaining, inexperienced bargainers may find themselves in a minefield they never contemplated nor previously appreciated.
This class will highlight, in pragmatic terms, the “rules of engagement “applicable to contemporary collective bargaining. The role of the chief spokesperson and negotiating committee, bargaining strategies, and managing the expectations of the C-Suite will also be discussed. It will also cover, in detail, the top common negotiating pitfalls a successful bargainer should avoid.
Top three learning or service objectives:
1. Provide participants with an understanding of the collective bargaining process in the contemporary global economy & the role of the chief spokesman
2. To acquaint participants with common bargaining pitfalls/mistakes that impede agreement
3. To expose and educate participants on how to properly formulate bargaining strategy, prepare for negotiations, and manage the expectations of team members and internal decision makers.
