Elizabeth (Liz) Lamping, Executive Director


Liz is the Executive Director of Pittsburgh Human Resources Association (PHRA).  The PHRA is ranked as one of the largest chapters affiliated the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).   She oversees that PHRA’s 1100 members are provided with high-quality development and certification programs, HR resources, and leading networking opportunities with other HR professionals.  It is her aim to ensure that the PHRA is responsive to members needs today, for tomorrow’s HR and business trends, with a strong emphasis on connecting the business strategy with the HR function.


Prior to joining the PHRA, Liz was the Senior Director of Member Services and a Project Manager for the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) in Washington, DC. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Clarion University and recently received her Master’s Degree in Public Management, with a concentration in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

In 2014 she was recognized by Pittsburgh Magazine as a 40 Under 40 Award Recipient.  The award recognizes individuals who are committed to shaping the Pittsburgh region and making it a better place for everyone to live, work and play.


Liz currently sits on the board of directors for Girl Scouts of South Western Pennsylvania and is an advisory board member for the School of Business at Slippery Rock University. 



Deven Snyder, Director of Marketing & Member Services

Deven graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resources Management, and was recognized as the SHRM Student Member of the Year (2008-2009). She is currently pursing her MBA at the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business with concentrations in Marketing and Strategy.

Deven is responsible for executing the development of high-quality membership programs and events, oversight of membership renewals and new member applications, distribution of regular member communications, and serves as a liaison to all volunteer committees. She also manages the marketing and advertising strategy for the association.

 Katherine Miller, Membership Coordinator


Katherine serves as the PHRA’s Membership Coordinator and provides support to both the Executive Director and Director of Marketing and Member Services. Katherine is responsible for executing administrative tasks such as correspondence, filing, and dues processing to ensure the operations of the office run smoothly and will work directly with the Director of Marketing and Member Services to provide a first-rate experience for current and potential members through a variety of recruitment and retention efforts.

Katherine holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Point Park University and has successfully passed SHRM’s Assurance of Learning Exam, an exam for graduating HR students, at the proficient level. Katherine joined the PHRA staff after being a student member and participating in both the Buddy Program and Job Shadow Program.
