2007 President’s Strategies
and Initiatives
Partnerships –
Continue to create increased demand for strategic HR capabilities by demonstrating the value of HR to leaders within our alliances.
· Initiative – Develop a Partnership review team to manage potential partnership requests with specific criteria.
· Initiative – Engage the leadership of the Pittsburgh CareerLink system as an initial partner to assist with Workforce Development efforts in Pittsburgh and Western PA.
Membership –
Achieve higher participation rates by creating greater value for members. Assess member needs and encourage their contributions to the organization.
· Initiative – Develop member surveys and determine frequency or method of conducting them to help engage individuals and provide desired services.
Leadership –
Maintain and ensure ongoing success and positive staff and Board leadership by implementing a succession plan.
· Initiative – Follow-through with the proposed succession planning process and charge the team to publish and communicate the developed competencies so that future candidates will be aware of the requirements of leadership within the organization.
Branding –
Develop a regional repositioning campaign that highlights the strategic value of PHRA.
· Initiative – Create a partnership with an advertising/marketing firm to develop and communicate positive and consistent messages about the organization through the PHRA website and other media.
