Enthusiasm represents fun, excitement, and energy. Enthusiasm should be a way of life. Enthusiasm should drive you towards success, personally and professionally. Corazon has a great culture that supports passion and enthusiasm in their workplace. In 2007, Corazon added the keyword “enthusiasm” into the company values and, as a way to promote this new value, the ENTHUSIASM campaign was established to highlight this value and build a program around things they were already doing and also add other initiatives. The campaign was designed wherein each letter of the word was used to correspond to an initiative with various activities to complete through the year. The goal was to develop the platform for creating an “enthusiastic” atmosphere including fun activities as well as to build camaraderie amongst co-workers, while working to achieve company and individual goals.
 
This program involved holiday/seasonal activities, movie showings, contests (based on company financial and/or sales and other goals), healthy eating and exercise, and many other in-office activities that allow employees to have fun while they busily serve their many clients. This is a very robust program that created a lot of interest and excitement with the team as a way to promote enthusiasm. For each completed activity, employees received a “brick” for the “Path to Success.” Bricks were also awarded for company accolades and individual employee accomplishments. Each month, awarded bricks were posted on the wall to show the progress. As the bricks were awarded, the team became closer in reaching the “pot of gold” (the established goal). If the number of bricks awarded met the established goal, the company would close down (management rotating and providing on-call coverage) between the week of Christmas and New Years.
 
Employees enjoyed the ENTHUSIASM campaign, and it helped the company become a closer team. Employees had a chance to learn more about their co-workers, on both personal and professional levels. Employees came together, worked harder, and supported each other to help reach each task, knowing that it would take the whole team to reach the “pot of gold”. The ENTHUSIASM campaign implemented many positive changes within the Corazon office – including redesigning some of the office space for a larger kitchen and in-office gym. Everyone was motivated by an incentive – days off or recognition – which altered the behavior of the group to give more focus on company goals. This program was extremely effective—the company achieved the company goals for the year, fostered collaboration among team members, and became a more cohesive group as a result.
