As our workforce grows older, business’ need to have the experienced skilled workers stay on the job as replacements may not readily be available. Employees have concern over how they can physically stay on the job and perform well, while they also need to keep working due to economics. Explore the strategies and proactive approach needed to successfully keep ourselves and our employees on the job and healthy.
Goals and Objectives
Participants will be able to:
1. Identify risk factors for injuries and poor health, as well as strategies to combat the risk factors.
2. Understand the effects of aging.
3. Identify what the employer and employee can do to help keep aging workers on the job.
4. Gain an understanding of the benefits in having an active life style vs. inactivity.
About Dennis: Dennis Martin, OTR/L, CHT is the Occupational Therapy Program Director for UPMC Centers for Rehab Services. Dennis is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist who has specialized in Industrial Rehabilitation over the past 21 years. This has included working on site in many industries to assist with environmental and staffing strategies aimed at injury prevention and return to work for the injured worker.
