To be eligible for the student rate, you must be a full-time student enrolled in an HR or Labor Relations program at a college or university AND/OR you are a SHRM student chapter member. Part-time graduate students working full-time are not eligible for the student rate.

- Gaining the key competencies for leading a diverse team, being a successful team member and serving multicultural and multilingual customers.
- Recognizing individual frames of reference and filters and understanding their impact on meeting personal and business objectives.
- Gaining skills for working productively and respectfully with all team members and customers and for leveraging the talents, skills and experiences of everyone to meet individual and organizational goals
About Karen: As a Diversity Lead Analyst, Karen develops, implements, and facilitates curriculum to empower the Cigna community to examine how workplace processes are impacted by our individual experiences. Karen is also responsible for creating professional development programs and opportunities for underrepresented employees within the organization. She is a certified diversity trainer with extensive experience facilitating discussions on building inclusive communities in the education, nonprofit, and corporate sectors.
She is an active supporter of quality education initiatives and serves on the board of directors for Hartford Public Schools, Hartford Public Library, the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC), and Sheff Movement Coalition. She is a graduate of Leadership Greater Hartford’s Quest program, and she is a recipient of Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty Award.
Karen earned a B.A. with honors in Educational Studies from Trinity College.
