To be eligible for the student rate, you must be a full-time student enrolled in an HR or Labor Relations program at a college or university AND/OR you are a SHRM student chapter member. Part-time graduate students working full-time are not eligible for the student rate.
In this presentation, learn how Lean Six Sigma can help you and your organization move forward and strive for peak performance. You will learn what Lean Six Sigma is, how it was developed, and the processes and tools it uses to streamline and improve both manufacturing and service industries.
The skills learned will enable students to understand how Lean Six Sigma can be deployed throughout an organization to improve quality and reduce cost while improving customer satisfaction. Learn how Lean Six Sigma fits into a quality program, how customers are retained, and how costs are driven down using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Goals and Objectives:
1. Understand the basics of lean Six Sigma processes and tools
2. Understand the role of leadership, people, and culture of LSS in an organization
3. How to introduce and incorporate LSS into an organization
About J.B.: J.B. Wilcox is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He spent 8 years as a pilot in the U.S Marine Corp with 1,500 flight hours.
His civilian career spans 25 of industry experience. He has led both manufacturing plants and sales teams, as well as supply chain organizations and large strategic initiatives. He started his civilian career as a shop-floor supervisor for Schering-Plough. He held increasingly progressive roles in operations before becoming an award-winning district sales manager. As part of the original supply chain management team, he helped implement the first Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. He then was asked to develop and implement Schering-Plough’s Global Supply Chain Excellence Program.
Later, J.B. served as the Head of Supply Chain for Mylan Pharmaceuticals’ U.S. Generic Division, before being asked to lead their manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico.
He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and works toward customer-focused, process-based, and data-driven continuous improvement. He has a passion for hands-on leadership, cross-functional team building, consensus-based decision-making and establishing open and transparent cultures of teamwork and continuous improvement.
