Goals and Objectives:
In this program, Clark Hill PLC Labor and Employment attorneys Mario Bordogna and Amy McCrossen will discuss everything that HR Professionals and employers in PGH need to know about the guidelines and administration of the new City of Pittsburgh Paid Sick Days Act, soon-to-be effective on March 15, 2020. Among other things, attendees will learn if and how the leave and accrual requirements of the Act apply to them, authorized uses for earned sick time, and requirements for an employee’s use of leave. We also will cover whether current sick leave and paid time off policies comply with the Act, as well as many other critical compliance details under both the Act and its recently promulgated regulations.
Mario Bordogna, Esquire is a partner at Clark Hill who has represented employers for almost 25 years in health care, energy, hospitality, manufacturing, education, and more helping them with HR/employment counseling, labor–management relations, employment litigation, policy development, noncompetition matters, training, and a wealth of other labor and employment needs.
Amy McCrossen, Esquire is an associate at Clark Hill who works with employers to ensure statutory compliance, consult on best practices, and handle employee disputes. Prior to attending law school, Amy worked in Human Resources for Target Corporation.
